I'm a little late getting this post out. Last Monday, April 20th, I sent Ephraim's second care package! We're hoping he gets it before his May WBC (wellness baby chart/"exam") at Holt. In this care package we sent:
- jacket, (2) shirts, (2) shorts, jammies
- (2) Baby Einstein toys (gotta work on those motor skills!)
- teething toy (baby boy has 4 teeth now!)
- freeze-dried fruit & veggie snacks
- Veggie Tales - "I Thank God for This Day" board book w/ audio
- picture frame w/ one picture of us and (if you look closely) one picture of us as a family :)
- translated letter to the foster parents
- honey & a necklace - for the foster parents
I was able to work on writing some Korean this past week. I decided to try and write "Hello" in Korean on the envelope to the foster parents (and it definitely made me want to learn more!). If you're interested, here is how you say "Hello" in Korean: "Ann-yeong-ha-seyo" --> click here to hear the audio. This is how it looks in Korean characters: 안녕하세요. And below is my attempt! It was super fun to write....I love how crisp and precise Korean characters are! It looks so sharp and neat! I've kind of neglected learning how to speak Korean, so this week, my goal is to focus more on Rosetta Stone :)
Feeling very emotional this week, as a few of my Facebook friends are currently in Korea either going to court or on their second trip, bringing their babies home!! The pictures are absolutely ripping my heart out! From meeting their sweet children for the first time, to the bittersweet hugs and tears shared with the foster moms, as they say their goodbyes to the babies they've loved, cared for, and raised for the past two or three years. Whew....just typing it is bringing me tears. I have a lot to look forward to and a lot to learn in the meantime, and God is constantly working on Danniger and my hearts and minds to transform us into the parents He needs us to be for sweet Ephraim. In my daily Bible study yesterday, I came across these beloved verses from Deuteronomy: "....The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments I give to you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." (Deuteronomy 6:4-9) We are getting ready to start working on Ephraim's bedroom!....and you know I'm going to find a way to incorporate that verse into it :) Needless to say....Jesus is our whole life!! He is our everything! He is and is going to be at the center of our family always, and people won't need to question whether we love Him or not. They will know.
